In a world where climate change and urbanization are pushing the comfort boundaries of our cities, the use of 3D city models in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) becomes an essential tool to evaluate urban designs and layouts. Within this project we are exploring the current use of semantic 3D city models, tailored to strengthen the connection between open-source generated 3D city models and their exploitation within the open-source fluid dynamics community. We look at wind simulations performed in part of the TU Delft campus, where the use of geometry 3D model variants and semantics is explored to improve current local wind conditions. These models were used during the last version of GEO5015 course in TUDelft GEO5015.
