Weixiao Gao

About Me

I am a PhD researcher in the 3D Geoinformation group at TU Delft. I hold dual master’s degrees in Geoinformation Science from TU Berlin and CUHK. My expertise includes photogrammetry, geoinformation, computer vision, remote sensing, and computational geometry. My research focuses on improving the understanding of urban scenes through advanced 3D modeling and developing innovative applications for 3D spatial intelligence.

Research Interests

• Geoinformation: 3D data acquisition and integration, 3D city modeling, spatial analysis, and 3D geodatabases
• Photogrammetry: 3D reconstruction, textured mesh processing, and point cloud analysis
• Computer vision: 2D/3D semantic segmentation, interactive annotation, and object detection

• [April. 2024] Two papers on building point cloud completion and filling LoD2 building holes have been accepted at 3DGeoInfo 2024.
• [June 2023] Our paper on roofline extraction has been accepted at 3DGeoInfo 2023.
• [Feb. 2023] Our work on semantic mesh segmentation has been accepted in the ISPRS Journal of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing.
• [Aug. 2021] Our work on semantic urban mesh benchmarks has been accepted in the ISPRS Journal of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing.
