Final exam retake

The exam will be held at the scheduled date and time (June 26 @ 9:00-12:00), but it will be an oral exam through a Discord video call. In it, you will be asked to explain aspects from 4 lessons from the course. You will choose 2 lessons and I will choose another 2 lessons. I expect the exam to take between 30 minutes and an hour (depending on the length of your explanations).

In order to guide the explanation, I will ask you one or two questions per lesson. You can expect both general questions (eg what is the MAT? or why is boundary representation useful?) as well as more detailed questions (eg what is the link between the Voronoi diagram and interpolation? or how do you generalise from a Bézier curve to a surface?).

Note that the aim here is to gauge your general knowledge and understanding of the course, not to trick you with ‘gotcha’ questions. For example, it is fine if you make some mistakes with terminology, but you should be able to explain how a certain data model works (in broad strokes).

Since a few people will be doing the exam, I will contact you a few days in advance to agree on an exact time slot (9-10, 10-11 or 11-12). You can also book a slot in advance by contacting Ken through Discord (kenohori#5365) or email.

Please have paper and pencil/pen (or digital equivalents) at hand, so that you can draw things when necessary. Also, please make sure in advance that your camera and mic are working properly.

If something goes seriously wrong (eg sudden illness or internet going down), do not worry. Just contact Ken as soon as you can for alternative arrangements (most likely another oral exam through a video call).
